HONORS & AWARDS

Medic Leadership Award for Medical Research is an annual international contest for medical doctors and pharmacists who have presented or published clinical research in a specific medical field in a highly ranked scientific publication and are daily actively involved in clinical practice in institutions throughout the region.

This award recognizes leadership competence and demonstration in the areas of public health advocacy, research, education, and/or equity and social justice. The nominee must have substantive experience in the public health field.

This award honors a student in public health or a related field who has shown leadership and commitment to public health in the areas of advocacy, research, academia, and/or community involvement. The nominee may be an undergraduate or graduate-level student.

This award honors an individual who has retired from fulltime employment in public health, in recognition of their significant contributions and leadership in the field of public health.

The MPHAM Award for Excellence is given each year to a living individual in recognition of his/her exceptionally meritorious contribution to the improvement of health of the people. It honors creative work of particular effectiveness in applying scientific knowledge or innovative organizational work to the betterment of community health. Individuals nominated for the award have made significant and well-recognized contributions to the improvement of public health, but should be at a point in their career where they can reasonably be expected to make further contributions.

The MPHAM Award for Excellence is now funded by the MPHAM Awards Endowment, which was established in 2019 through private donations and philanthropic contributions as a means for continuing recognition and encouragement of accomplishments in public health, and to assure perpetual capability to recognize achievement, to express our gratitude, and to urge forward current enterprise and initiation of new effort.
